John MacDonald & Associates

John MacDonald entered public practice in 1980 after graduating from The University of Western Ontario in Economics and Wilfrid Laurier in Accounting in 1980. After articling with Touche Ross & Co, John worked in Government for eight years before establishing his own firm. Specializing in owner managed business and detailed tax planning, John has grown the firm to include several professional staff serving over 350 corporations and over 1200 individuals.

In addition to being active in both local and federal politics, John serves on the Board of Directors of several public companies and continues to play an active role in strategic leadership in many private ventures.

The focus of John’s work is assisting clients in improving operating results, minimizing resulting income taxes and planning for future financial needs. Whether it is big or small, John is committed to excellence and has demonstrated this through his unwillingness to settle for second best.

Matthew MacDonald graduated from McMaster University with an Honours BA and received Masters of Business Administration from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Matthew has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. From co-founding a concert promotion & production business when he was in high school to buying and selling a pool maintenance and service business before he turned twenty-five, Matthew's practice includes new economy consulting, human resource management and corporate restructuring.

Matthew resides in Oakville with his wife Hailey and children Stella and Reese.

Specialization: Canadian & U.S Tax

Tammy has worked in public practice and in industry for nearly 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Niagara University in New York and qualified as a CGA in 2009.

Tammy provides services to a wide range of personal and corporate clients in a various industries. She specialized in both US and Canadian tax and focuses her efforts on minimizing income taxes for corporations and their owner-managers.

In her spare time, Tammy enjoys boating and spending time at the cottage with family and friends.

Kate graduated from Sheridan College in 2006 in Accounting. She is currently working towards her degree with Athabasca University.

Specialization: Personal & Corporate Tax for Medical Professionals

Andreas graduated from Sheridan College in 2007 in Accounting. He plans on obtaining his degree through distance education with Athabasca University with his sights set on a CGA designation.

Specialization: Investment & Small Business Tax

Sharrif graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2008 and is currently working towards his CGA designation

Specialization: Real Estate & Corporate Tax

Claudia graduated from Brock University in 2009, receiving her Bachelors of Accounting degree. She is currently working towards her CA designation.

Specialization: Bookkeeping & Government Inquiries

Carissa graduated from Sheridan College in 2010 in Accounting.

Jennifer joined the team at John MacDonald & Associates in early 2011. In addition to overseeing all office administration, Jennifer handles all incorporation processing and assists with all government filings.
