Proudly support the hiring of co-op students

For years we have proudly supported the hiring of co-op students as they begin their careers in the field of accounting. It is our commitment to teaching through practical work that has made our firm attractive to applicants. From preparing year-ends for one of our 200 corporate clients to working on tax returns during tax season, there is a new challenge everyday at John MacDonald & Associates.

Proud to work at John MacDonald & Associates

Since January of 2006, I have been employed as a co-op student at John MacDonald & Associates. My first semester was during tax season, which is by far the busiest time of the year in the accounting profession. Having to meet deadlines and finish files promptly and properly, allowed me to develop many important business skills. The opportunity to speak with clients improved my communication skills and working on different files honed my problem solving abilities. Not only was the work itself a welcome challenge, my co-workers were very kind and helpful in enhancing my work-term experience. John MacDonald & Associates promotes a healthy and fun yet professional work environment. I have spoken with many other classmates about their work terms, and none have sounded as exciting or informative as my time at John MacDonald & Associates. I am proud to work for such a respected and reputed accounting firm.

“I began my internship at John MacDonald & Associates in 2005 and after completing my Diploma at Sheridan College, I have since accepted a full time position as a staff accountant. Here at John MacDonald & Associates we serve approx. 900 individual clients and approx. 300 businesses or corporations. This diversity of business exposes me to a wide variety of accounting strategies and daily opportunity to develop core accounting concepts. At John MacDonald & Associates I feel I am being equipped to understand and manage many different client scenarios and this has given me a lot of confidence in my young career.”
