In the face of great difficulty, you can see the salvation of Jesus Christ!  Its Holy Week and I am filled with great hope, inspite of great adversity because I KNOW Sunday is coming!!!  Happy Easter.

1Corinithinas 5: 20Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Its tax season (also known as Roll up the rim to win season) and we are proud to actually know someone who won more than “Please Play Again”. So congrats to Pastor Roger Freeman! Next to winning the MacDonald NCAA Basketball Tourney, winning something from Tim Horton’s is on my bucket list now!

A Pool Company….that makes sense?

Not every great idea should actually be executed. Brokering the purchase of a client’s pool company so he could retire and my son and his best friend could own a business….pretty good example I would say! So the boys get their first experience with face to face consumers, complaints and making payroll….lots of parents loose hundreds of thousands of dollars finding out their kids are not suited for business. In this case, we learned other lessons, friendship is more important than money, Matt is probably not the guy you want in charge of customer complaints, little things can kill you if you let them, hiring kids from the church to work for you is dumb, and due diligence, while expensive is a good investment.

Enter an established General Manager who wants to own a Pool Company and expand into Landscape Design, exit the boys with lessons you can’t buy!

So yeah, I own a Pool Company, if you want your pool opened, closed or maintained….www.ablepools.ca, ask for Nancy, tell them your accountant sent you…. :)

Where’s Waldo

One of my favourite kids books when the children we’re young was where’s is Waldo.

If you want to see what my face looks like celebrating a 10x investment in a start up company that is moving up to the TSX…see if you can find me!

Let’s be sure to give the credit to a great team of executives and staff who took the money raised, set a plan and excuted it well.
