Provincial Budget

Friday, March 27th, 2009

So Ontario release their budget yesterday…

Here’s what Collins Barrow thought of it…

“I’m from the GOVERNMENT and I’m here to help you…”

If that doesnt scare you, read up on the budget from Ontario and learn how they plan to join the world in spending us out of a problem that overspending got us into. Priceless….

kindness and posers

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Is it kind to listen intently to posers who couldnt find a profitable business with both hands and a miner’s hat…. “there is never an excuse to be unkind”….

But is it kind to nod your head when you know someone needs to have their head read. When you know instinctively that their cashflow….wont flow. That their dreams of high margins and low overhead will be nightmares if their friends and family fund their “business plan” Recently, in our own version of Dragon’s Den…. I just kept hearing O’Leary shouting over and over, the lights gleaming off his dome…. this pig won’t fly, put a bullet in it…. so yeah, it may seem unkind to the poor fool who thinks all it takes to build a business is an idea, but to their potential investors, it is kindness, cause they get to keep their dough!

Tax Season for accountants is busy….we work crazy hours! But the fact is, when you work 12 hours a day and 6 days a week, you have alot of capacity! So dont wait, dont apologize, really, were grownups, this is our life…were tax accountants! Nobody listened to my grandfather because he had to milk the cows 7 days a week, twice a day, so just step up, let us know what we can do to help you…..and tell your friends, we like meeting new people like you, people with interesting problems, interesting….we like that!

Welcome to My Blog!

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Well, I’ve finally crossed over into the blog-world.  Some said it would never be done, but I was never one for following the crowd.

This blog is a place where I can provide our clients with relevant and current information that affects both them personally and their business, as well as rant about everything from new policies introduced by the government to why Duke is going to win the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

I encourage you to take advantage of this space. Ask questions, comment on what is being said, but most importantly know that the team at John MacDonald & Associates is committed to giving you the service you deserve, and this is only one part of ensuring that you understand that your success is our priority.
